CORNISH vintage car racing driver Simon

Kelleway is celebrating his first podium finish and beating Bugatti rivals at an international race on a street circuit in South West France.

The Looe driver, who runs vintage racing team Scorched Earth Racing with his wife Sara, competed in a 1937 Riley Sprite Special at the Circuit des Remparts in Angouleme. Kelleway was racing at the event for the second time and held off Bugattis, supercharged MGs and an Alfa Romeo Le Mans for his podium finish.

'It's a great way to end our second season. As one of the few remaining street circuits in the world,

Angouleme is demanding. Like at Monaco, any mistakes are costly,' said Kelleway.
