St Piran League Division Three East to Four East latest round-up

HIGH-flying Landrake remain within a point of leaders St Dennis Reserves after a remarkable 10-goal encounter at Delabole United on Saturday.

The East Cornwall outfit headed to the King George V Playing Field with three wins from five starts and cruised into a 6-1 advantage at the break.

Luke Bancroft put them ahead within two minutes before Ryan Oxley netted a 10-minute hat-trick by the 18th minute for a 4-1 cushion.

Roy Kyle (22) and Carlo Marino (32) put the visitors in dreamland, but in the end they had to suffer as the hosts pulled it back to 6-4 with 20 minutes remaining.

Bodmin Dragons’ inconsistent season continued as they were held to a 1-1 draw by visiting North Petherwin Reserves in the only other game in the league involving a Cornish Times club.

In the Cornwall Junior Cup first round, St Neot won 6-4 at Brake Parc Wanderers which included a four-goal haul from Edward Clarke, while Bodmin Town Reserves were beaten 4-0 at in-form St Columb Major.

Lostwithiel Reserves made the short trip to St Blazey Thirds on Friday night but were soundly beaten 8-1 with Harry Bennett on target in the second half at 5-0 down, while St Anns Chapel recorded a first victory since entering the league over the summer as they downed Launceston Thirds 2-0.

The hosts started with a back three before switching midway through the first half, a move which saw them get to the whistle on top without being able to get through the all-important breakthrough.

A change of wingers at the break seemed to do the trick and St Anns got their first win of the season as Rob Henderson teed up Dan Symons for the first which was added to 10 minutes later by Henderson himself.
