Former St Dominick manager Andrew Moon has been handed a 10-match suspension and a £100 fine by the Cornwall FA following a disciplinary hearing.
The hearing heard that in May this year, the Cornwall FA received reports with allegations made against an individual of St Dominick FC relating to an incident in an East Cornwall Premier League game against Callington Town Reserves.
In a statement, Cornwall FA said: ‘Due to the serious nature of these allegations they were reported to the police to conduct a full investigation.
‘When this happened CCFA were granted dispensation by the FA to delay our own investigation until such time as the police were happy for us to proceed.
‘Once we received permission from the police to proceed we followed the FA Rules and Regulations for our disciplinary process.
‘Andrew Moon, former manager of St Dominick FC, was issued a charge under FA Rule E3 (2) Improper Conduct:
‘E3 (1) A Participant shall at all times act in the best interests of the game and shall not act in any manner which is improper or brings the game into disrepute or use any one, or a combination of, violent conduct, serious foul play, threatening, abusive, indecent or insulting words or behaviour.
‘E3 (2) is an ‘Aggravated Breach’ where it includes a reference, whether express or implied, to any one or more of the following: ethnic origin, colour, race, nationality, religion or belief, gender, gender reassignment, sexual orientation or disability.
‘At a disciplinary hearing held on Thursday October 26, Mr Moon had the charge against him found proven and was issued with a 10-match suspension and fine of £100.
‘Mr Moon has the right of appeal to the FA against this decision.’
Mr Moon has since left St Dominick FC.
