SALTASH United have made their second summer signing by bringing in midfielder Fletcher Williams.

His arrival follows hard on the heels of the capture of former Plymouth Parkway striker Mike Smith.

The 21-year-old Williams is well known in the local game, having played for Plymouth Argyle, Truro City, Willand Rovers and Plymouth Parkway.

He brings a wealth of experience at playing in higher leagues, despite his young age.

Fantastic

Thrilled with the new signing, Ashes manager Dane Bunney commented: ‘The signing of Fletcher is a superb capture for our club.

‘He’s played for some big clubs in the past such as Truro, Argyle and Plymouth Parkway.

‘Now he can add Saltash United to that list.

‘We went for him because he has fantastic ability, but just as importantly, the right attitude and character to slot into and complement the fantastic group of players we already have.

‘I firmly believe he will love playing for us. ‘

Williams told Ashes Media: ‘I had a short spell with the club when I was young.

‘It’s a great place and I am really looking forward to meeting all the boys and working with Dane, Danny (Lewis) and Lee (Phillips).

‘I can’t wait for the season to start.’
