Caradon Men travelled to Pool to play Duchy A in what they knew would be a tough fixture, as Dutchy had not conceeded a goal on their home pitch.

Caradon started in what has become their trade mark style of all-out attack but, unlike previous games, Duchy stood fast and both teams seemed evenly matched.

However, it was the visitors who broke the deadlock first when Neil Spencer deflected a cross into the opposition goal.

Duchy answered back straight away, flying out of their midfield and cutting through the Caradon defence. Tim Wright was perfectly positioned to stop the first shot but had no chance to clear the rebound before Duchy slammed it into the goal to pull even.

After the restart Caradon began to build the pressure again, fighting into the home side's circle.

A well-struck shot was heading straight for the Duchy keeper's foot until Spencer again deflected the ball at the last second over the outstretched limb and into the goal to put Caradon back in charge of the game.

This time, however, Duchy failed to knock Caradon back and the visitors managed to hold onto the momentum. Some poor discipline from the home side gave Caradon chance to push into the Duchy circle yet again.

The umpire took a dislike to some choice language and Duchy dropped temporarily to 10 men. Caradon made the most of this advantage and manged to extend their lead to 3-1 at half-time.

Duchy continued to look dangerous throughout the second half but the Caradon defence stood strong and closed down any opportunity quickly. Tyler Walsh was putting on a very impressive display up front for Caradon harrying the Duchy defence at every opportunity. After fighting his way through the final defenders for a one-on-one with the keeper, the young Walsh picked his spot and flicked the ball past the keeper without hesitation.

Caradon were reduced to 10 men for five minutes for a duplicate shirt number but they continued to press the opposition into their own half and when Lawrence Pullen returned to the pitch he slotted home Caradons fifth and final goal.

Duchy continued to battle for a goal until the final minute and their perseverance paid off just before the whistle blew. The initial shot was saved by the Caradon keeper but a goalmouth scrabble couldn't be cleared and the ball was forced over the line to make the final score 5-2 to Caradon.

Caradon came away very pleased with a win against a tough opposition, Tyler Walsh won Caradon's man of the match for his impressive work in attack.

Caradon travel to Plymouth to play Marjons D this weekend and hope to continue they current run of good form.
