CARADON Swimming Club took 17 members to the first City of Bristol Open Meet and came home with 16 medals, as well as a number of personal best (PB) times.

The star of the show was David Scoles, who completed a personal tally of eight medals.

He got the ball rolling for the East Cornwall club by taking silver in the boys' 14 years 200-metre freestyle with a PB of two minutes, 41.75 seconds.

Jack Williams ensured that the swimmers were on form by taking the bronze medal in the same age group in a PB by seven seconds of 2:50.94.
