A LOCAL theatre group has raised more than £3,000 for St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth following four performances of its latest production across South East Cornwall.

Members of An Act of Murder were delighted to present a cheque for £3,030 to the hospice, representing proceeds from their production of Pushing Up the Daisies.

The performances were staged at Golberdon, Pillaton, Rilla Mill and St Anne’s Chapel, bringing the production to audiences across the area while raising vital funds for the hospice, which provides specialist end-of-life care and support across Plymouth and surrounding communities.

The group said the entire run had been a “great buzz”, from the first read-through through to the final performance.

The group is already looking ahead to its next production, A Fatal Seascape, and said it is looking forward to doing it all over again.
