The Eden Project is encouraging people to spend a night sleeping outside the Biomes to raise life-saving funds for the homeless.

On Thursday, November 7 Eden is hosting the annual sponsored Sleep Out, with all money raised going to two South West charities, Amber Foundation, which helps homeless young people, and St Petroc’s Society.

Sleep Out fundraisers will be given a cardboard sheet and a paper sleeping bag and then endure a cold, hard night knowing their efforts make a vital difference.

Last year’s event raised a record-breaking £20,000 for the two charities and helped ease the plight of hundreds of people without a permanent roof over their heads.

Dan James, Eden Project Development Director, said: ‘There’s an enjoyable evening to be had before bedding down on hard ground. There will be talks and live music and the chance to get together around a campfire and make and share supper

Among the guests will be Raynor Winn, author of the The Salt Path, the best-selling book about becoming homeless and walking the South West coastline with her husband Moth.
