The Liskeard Short Mat Bowls Club recently held their Annual General Meeting and Presentation of Trophies.
Most of the members were present and were welcomed by the Chairman, Mr Phil Thomas, before the Officers reported on the year's events.
This was followed by the election of officers for the coming year. They were Chairman Paul Cummins, Vice-Chairman/Captain Peter Spargo, Secretary Phil Thomas, Treasurer Sheila Hodge, Competition Secretary Carol Cummins, Committee Member/Press Edna Cope.
Following the AGM the presentation of trophies for the past year's club competitions were made. They were:- Singles Peter Spargo, Two Wood Singles Paul Cummins, Pairs Harry Thompson and Carol Cummins, Triples Chris Cope, Dorothy Woodyatt and Carol Cummins, Doreen Barnard Shield Chris Cope, Pete Field and Phil Thomas.
The trophies for the bowler who won the most bowls drives and club night points were both won by Carol Cummins. The presentations were followed by a faith supper and a social hour, while the next year's activities were discussed.
The club meets every Wednesday and Sunday, at the Morley Tamblyn Lodge, from 7.00 pm to 10.00pm. New members are always welcomed. For further details please telephone 01579 345667 or 01579 342765.
