FESTOON lights along Saltash’s Fore Street are set to be switched back on as autumn approaches, after being turned off during the summer.
Saltash Town Council said many of the bulbs had stopped working and the display had begun to look worn, prompting the decision to switch the lights off during the brighter months.
The council says the lights will return as evenings begin to draw in, operating between 7.30pm and 11.30pm to help brighten Fore Street and create a more welcoming atmosphere.
Work is also under way to replace faulty bulbs, with the aim of ensuring the display is looking its best throughout the winter.
The council thanked residents and visitors for their patience and understanding while the improvements are carried out.
