The peaceful Tamar Valley must have wondered what had happened on Friday as more than 400 primary school children descended upon the estate of Cotehele eager to compete in the second event of the Cornish Times sponsored East Cornwall Harriers Primary Schools Cross-Country League.
Although weather conditions were not great, the children's enthusiasm didn't falter as the National Trust allowed the league to return to Cotehele Estate having not been included as a venue last season.
