A NEW bridge has been built on a footpath linking to one of Cornwall’s mining world heritage sites.

Contractors Cormac, working on behalf of Cornwall Council, have erected the replacement footbridge on a walking route between St Blazey and the Luxulyan Valley.

The contractors have also carried out path improvements on the route that connects Par Railway Station with the historic valley.

Cormac, posting online, said: “The old bridge had reached the end of its life, but through temporary repairs, careful planning and investment from Cornwall Council's capital safety programme, access was maintained while a permanent solution was delivered.

“The new footbridge and improved path surfaces provide a safer, more accessible route for walkers and help safeguard this valued community connection for years to come.”
