In reply to the letter on the subject of BBC local Cornish radio presenters (Cornish Times, 11.12.09), I would like to make one or two observations.

Firstly, I feel quite sorry for the letter writer because he is obviously not sleeping... To be able to turn off the 6am-9am radio slot must mean being awake before this time. Perhaps a visit to the doctor for a sleeping draught might be of help, but, oh no, perhaps the medic is not Cornish. Also the letter writer seems to be listening to the lunchtime slot with the award-winning Laurence Reed – but he was born in Devon.

Lastly, it would seem a shame to sack the affable Mr Bailie. However, should the BBC take this line and replace him with a Cornish presenter, who would do things 'dreckly', then we would have to listen to today's programme tomorrow or even next week.
