PLANS for 156 new homes have been submitted for the next phase of the Treledan development on the outskirts of Saltash.

The proposal would see an existing barn at Broadmoor Farm demolished and replaced with a new residential development, including public open space, landscaping, new planting and routes for pedestrians and cyclists.

The scheme, being put forward by Bloor Homes, is the latest phase of the wider Treledan development, which has already brought a significant number of new homes to the area.

The application site is described as land at Phase 4, Treledan Broadmoor Farm, Stoke, Saltash.

If approved, the plans would add 156 properties to the growing development, alongside new roads and other infrastructure needed to serve the homes.

The proposals include areas of public open space and landscaping, with the developer saying the new planting will form part of the wider setting for the development. New pedestrian and cycle links are also planned, providing connections through the site and helping link the new homes with the existing development.

The application has been submitted by James Artingstall of Bloor Homes (Exeter) Ltd.

Documents submitted with the application say the proposals have followed discussions with the local community.

Bloor Homes says it has been operating for more than 50 years and has experience of delivering housing developments across the country.

The company has also highlighted its previous work in Cornwall, including earlier phases of the Treledan development. The latest plans come as the Treledan area continues to change, with new housing and infrastructure being added around Broadmoor Farm.

The application is being considered by Cornwall Council and will now go through the planning process.

Residents and other interested parties will be able to view the plans and submit comments to the council as part of the consultation.

The council will consider the views received alongside the details of the proposed development before making a decision.

Among the issues that will be considered are the layout of the homes, access to the site, landscaping, public open space and how the new development fits with the surrounding area.

The proposal is being brought forward as part of the planned growth of Treledan rather than as a completely separate housing estate.

The 156 homes would form another sizeable addition to the development, while the proposed walking and cycling routes and open spaces are intended to provide facilities for both new and existing residents.

The plans include associated infrastructure to support the new properties and integrate them with the wider Treledan area – and are likely to attract local interest given the scale of the scheme and the continued expansion of Treledan.

Residents can now have their say on the plans through the council’s planning website with comments taken into account before the application is determined.

A decision on whether the 156-home development can go ahead will be made by Cornwall Council following its assessment of the application and the representations received during the consultation period.
