PUBLIC notices cover a range of applications, ranging from licensing applications for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works. Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities. Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Cornwall Council in South East Cornwall.

Cornwall Council have confirmed that several roads in South East Cornwall are set to be closed in the coming weeks.

These road closures are due to a number of reasons and as part of the authorisation process, they are required to advertise the proposed closures in local news titles in order to make the public aware.

The latest public notices indicate potential road closures in Fowey, Lostwithiel and Dobwalls.

FOWEY: Passage Lane in Fowey is set to be closed on September 7 for one day.

It is to enable Wildanet to undertake overhead connection works between the hours of 9am and 6pm.

The section of road affected is Passage Lane from near the layby to the junction with Penventinue Lane.

Pedestrian access to properties in the affected area will be maintained.

FOWEY: Browns Hill in Fowey is set to be closed to through traffic between September 22 and September 24 in order for ducting works to be undertaken by or on behalf of BT.

It will be in force between 8am and 6pm on these days, with the entire length of Browns Hill being subject to the closure.

There is no alternative route available, however access to properties in the affected area for pedestrians and vehicles will be maintained for the duration of the closure.

LOSTWITHIEL: A section of footpath in Lostwithiel is set to be closed until late September, it has been confirmed by Cornwall Council.

The footpath between South Street and Quay Street was put under an emergency 21-day closure order on August 5 amid concerns of the likelihood of it presenting a danger to the public due to structural concerns.

However, this has now been extended until September 25, when Cornwall Council anticipates that the necessary remedial works will be completed.

The prohibition of its use will be in place for 24 hours a day.

Nothing in the order authorising its closure will apply to traffic associated with the works, emergencies or anything done with the permission of or at the discretion of a police officer.
