Sheryll Murray, the new MP for South East Cornwall, has vowed not to drink on the House of Commons Terrace after being caught up in an incident that made national headlines.

The Conservative MP spent last Tuesday evening with colleagues who were drinking on the terrace beside the River Thames.

One MP on the terrace, Tory Mark Reckless, had so much to drink, according to reports, that he was unable to vote in an important late-night debate on the Budget.

And Mrs Murray was allegedly rude to a parliamentary official.
