A fire station regularly has to send understaffed crews to incidents due to a shortage of firefighters.

Callington Fire Station has even on one occasion attended a property fire with barely more than half the recommended number of crew members.

Station manager Kevin Rookley is keen to recruit new firefighters in the town before the situation gets worse.
