A Liskeard woman has been awarded an MBE in the New Year’s Honours list.

Professor Elizabeth Jane Kay, associate dean for equality and inclusion and foundation dean at the Peninsula Dental School, has been honoured for services to dental education.

Pete Pritchard, an area commander for Her Majesty’s Coastguard, has been awarded a British Empire Medal for services to maritime safety. 

He has worked for the organisation for 27 years. His patch covers a vast stretch from Chideock in West Dorset down to Dodman Point in South East Cornwall.
