Members of the South East Cornwall Tourism Association (SECTA) will be helping clean the beach at West Looe as part of the Litter Hitters campaign and the Adopt a Beach scheme on Saturday, April 1. SECTA members – including local accommodation providers, attractions staff and business suppliers – will be donning gloves and making a clean sweep of the beach at West Looe from 11.30am for the benefit of residents and visitors. All litter collected is listed and the information gathered is monitored nationally in an effort to trak the environmental quality of the seashore. Event organiser Mark Camp said the operation was a chance to give the beach a good clean before Easter. 'First impressions count,' said Mark. 'A beach strewn with flotsam and jetsam is not going to be pleasant for anyone. 'At SECTA we think this is the least we can do as part of Litter Hitter day.'
