A new community group called Positive Focus UK is being set up by Liskeard resident Glen Gorman, who is 55.
It is to help support serving and out of service emergency service and military personnel who are living with mental health issues as a result of their operational experiences.
Glen, a retired fireman of 30 years, 20 of which were spent in London, has a Cornish wife and moved to the county about 10 years ago.
Glen has PTSD himself as a direct result of some of the upsetting scenes he witnessed during his career, but he has found his photographic hobby has been very beneficial in helping him to cope. This has led to him setting up the group.
Positive Focus UK’s first workshop is planned to start at the end of April and numbers will be limited to three attending the sessions.
Details about the workshops can be found on the website www.positivefocus.org.uk
