A Cornish company is offering up the chance to ride a golden surfboard for the ultimate post-lockdown wave.
The team at Surfboards UK in Newquay have been using time during lockdown to test and develop new boards.
Shaper Stephen Stone said: ’We have recently made our first gold surfboard using genuine 23.75k gold and aerospace spec carbon fiber.
’We will be using it to raise funds and awareness for the NHS and the front line staff.
’Every single penny raised will be going towards the NHS. This is a very close cause to us, as my sister is a nurse on an intensive care ward at Papworth Hospital in Cambridge.’
A go fund me page has been set up where each donation to the cause receives an entry to a draw to win the golden board.
