A student who spent four days researching her family tree has discovered hundreds of relatives she never knew she had. During the school’s annual Challenge Week, Victoria Sichel, a Liskeard School and Community College Year 9 student who has lived in the town all her life, found nearly 600 new members of her family. Helped by Karen O’Livey, the school’s English faculty teaching assistant, Victoria used records on Ancestry and FindMyPast, to go back over five centuries and across three continents to track her ancestors using passenger lists and birth and marriage records.
