Surf was up for schoolchildren from Pensilva and Dobwalls who headed to Fistral Beach at Newquay for a day of sea safety.
Children who took part in the activity day led by the RNLI learnt about rip currents and how to deal calmly with an emergency.
There was even the chance to be a lifeguard as youngsters carried out mock rescues of their classmates – and this was followed by a session on surfboards.
PE teacher Oli Jones said: ‘It was a fun and active day. With beaches on our doorstep it was an important lesson to learn about safety and how to look after each other.’
