The Blues will be glad to see this tie out of the way as they were on a hiding to nothing against a Wendron side expected to be cannon fodder at Lux Park.

'It was a potential banana skin as we had to get a result and they had nothing to lose,' explained Liskeard assistant manager Tony Richardson.

'The players went out in the right frame of mind and did what was asked of them,' he added.

When asked about the third- round draw, Richardson said: 'We have a score to settle with holders St Austell, who knocked us out of the Throgmorton Cup earlier in the season on a day when we just didn't turn up.'

Liskeard proved far too strong for an inexperienced Wendron side who were a well-beaten outfit by the interval as the Blues led 6-1.
