The idea behind Lavolta was to establish an ensemble of professional Devon-based musicians, featuring the voices of Kate Westbrook and Sarah Owen, to perform exceptional 20th century musical works that may not often be performed outside of major cities.

Lavolta are appearing at Calstock Arts on Friday, January 13.  

They have said that their intention is ‘to bring something very different to the live music scene in the area’ and that the works they programme are ‘demanding – of audience and performer’. 

This evening’s main pieces are works by Luciano Berio and William Walton.
