Division One

Holywell/Cubert 0

St Dominick 1

ST DOMINICK made the long trip to Holywell Bay on Saturday and, after a hard battle, came away with all three points.

A hard, bumpy surface made good football very difficult and, although they had the better of the first half, Saints were unable to convert their chances.

Olly Cradick had a header cleared off the line, while Dan Jones forced the keeper into a fine save and another effort was cleared off the line but, in general, the home defence battled stubbornly.

Meanwhile, the Saints' back four easily dealt with any attack by the home side.

The second period saw the Saints carry on in the same fashion, and Jason Gregory was denied by the keeper as other chances went begging.

The all-important goal came in the 70th minute when Cradick rose majestically to head in a Kieran Wenmouth corner and give the Saints a well-deserved victory.

The Saints visit St Merryn tomorrow (2.30 pm kick-off).
