A 48-year-old man has been ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid community work and will be placed on the sex offenders register after exposing himself in public in Newquay.

Kiran Rabdiya, of Stanmore, London, was found guilty of exposure and possession of a class A drug following a trial at Truro Crown Court.

The conviction follows his arrest on September 14, 2024 after he was reported to the police for acting suspiciously in Newquay during the early hours of the morning. Police worked collaboratively with Newquay Council CCTV to search for the man, who they sighted exposing himself on a nearby road to passing motorists.

He was arrested by officers and a quantity of cocaine seized.

Appearing before the court on August 6, 2026, Rabdiya was sentenced to three months imprisonment, suspended for 24 months. He was also ordered to sign the sex offenders register for seven years, complete 100 hours of unpaid work and undertake 20 days of rehabilitation activity.

A breach of the suspended sentenced will result in jail time.

PS Jack Muscatt, who supported the investigation, said: “The behaviour displayed by Rabdiya caused significant concern and distress within the community.

“Everybody should be able to go about their daily lives without fear of being subject to this intimidating behaviour.

“We remain committed to tackling this type of behaviour, supporting victims and pursuing those who are responsible for these offences to ensure they are brought before the courts.”

The case reflects the force's ongoing commitment to tackling sexual offences.

Devon and Cornwall Police investigators have brought about the conviction of 138 perpetrators of sexual offences between January and June 2026.

Fifty-five of these convictions were for rape. These 55 perpetrators convicted carried out 99 rapes between them. These 55 perpetrators have been sentenced to nearly 400 years’ imprisonment between them.
