Pensilva Carnival week continues tomorrow, centred on Millennium House, with children’s sports and games at 2pm, which will be inside if the weather is wet.

At 7.30pm, indoors it will be the highly entertaining Donkey Derby Night, with cardboard horses. You can pick your jockey and start rolling the dice to get your favourite moving!

Carnival Day will dawn on Saturday beginning with the Farmers’ Market from 9.30am.

he packed afternoon of events begins with the official opening at 12.30pm by Doreen and Dennis Cardew, from St Ive.

A fancy dress procession led by Liskeard Silver Band and the Carnival Queen Brooke Hall and her attendants, will set off around the village at 1pm, accompanied by the Tavistock Twirlers.

Attractions on the field will include a baby show, dog show, It’s A Knock Out, classic cars and motorbikes with a parade, games, karting, a bouncy castle, a barbecue, zorbing, lazar tag, a car boot and table top sale, a raffle, skittles and much more.

The week ends on a high note with the Carnival Disco, running from 7.30pm until late.
