The business apprentice of the year at the 2015 Cornwall Apprenticeship Awards, has progressed from apprentice to human resources assistant at The Eden Project.

Matt Fulford, from Bodmin, who has completed his apprenticeship with Truro and Penwith College, is now heavily involved in recruiting seasonal staff at the Cornish attraction.

Matt has become an apprenticeship ambassador for Truro and Penwith College, speaking to audiences of interested learners and their parents at a number of events.

His ambassador work and willingness to promote apprenticeships prompted Eden to include him as part of their team in the national Brathay Apprenticeship Challenge, where they were given a highly commended award for their efforts in spreading the word on the benefits of apprenticeship training.

Nominations for the 2016 Cornwall Apprenticeship Awards are now open until September 12, at www.truro-penwith.ac.uk/CornwallApprenticeshipAwards.
