Liskeard Hospital could soon be able to treat cancer patients in the town.

Jan Britten and Tristan Stone, from Devon, launched The Chemotherapy Outreach Project when they became aware of the distance people living in outlying areas have to travel for treatment.

The pair were told if they raised £80,000 two senior oncology nurses could be employed to form a dedicated team, which would then treat patients at hospitals in Liskeard, Tavistock and Kingsbridge.

Jan and Tristan, who both have close friends or family members who have or are suffering from the disease, have surpassed their target and the outreach project could now become a reality.
