RNLI volunteers in Looe launched an inshore lifeboat after a woman walking with her dog became cut off by the incoming tide on the South East Cornwall coast.

The crew of the D Class lifeboat Ollie Naismith II was called out on Sunday afternoon (September 13) after the woman contacted the coastguard for help.

She had become stranded while walking between Samphire and Portnadler beaches.

The lifeboat crew reached her and confirmed she was uninjured before giving advice on a safe route off the beach.

The RNLI has urged people heading to the coast to check local tide times and identify safe exit routes before setting out.

Walkers are advised to return well before the tide turns and to remain aware of their surroundings, as the safest route may be retracing their steps.
