POLICE are seeking witnesses following a report of a hate crime in Hayle.

Officers received reports a woman shopping at Asda was subjected to racial abuse at the self-service checkout area in the presence of other customers during the early evening of Tuesday, August 18.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “The matter was reported to us earlier this month.

“Officers investigating the incident are seeking to trace witnesses. In particular a customer using the tills next to the victim at the time.”
