Police are today asking for the public’s help to trace Jeremy, a charity pony believed stolen from a field near Bude.

Jeremy went missing from the field in the Morwenstow area between 5.50pm on Saturday (March 25) and noon the next day.

He disappeared without a trace and is believed stolen as he doesn’t like to leave the field unless with a person. Other ponies and horses were also left untouched in the field.

Jeremy belongs to people4ponies, an equine charity based in Devon specialising in helping wild and traumatised ponies.

The owners have carried out repeated searches of the surrounding area and are desperate to have him home.

Police are now seeking the public’s help and appealing for information from anyone who may have seen Jeremy or knows of his whereabouts.

He is an Exmoor-cross bay gelding described as approximately 12 hands high and light brown in colour.

A police spokesman said: ’We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have been offered him for sale.’

If you think you have seen Jeremy, or have any information about him, or his whereabouts please contact police on [email protected] or phone 101 quoting crime CR/022583/17.

Livestock owners are also being asked to check their animals regularly, ensure fields are secure and be aware of any suspicious individuals and activity.
