A man has died following a two-vehicle collision which happened yesterday morning.

Emergency services were called at around 9.45am to reports of a collision involving a white Peugeot van and a Massey tractor with a trailer carrying livestock on the A30 westbound just prior to Bodmin.

The driver of the van, a 40-year-old man from West Yorkshire, sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

The tractor driver was not injured. None of the cattle were injured in the collision.

The weather conditions at the time of the collision were fine, sunny and dry with good visibility.

The westbound carriageway was closed for much of the day.
