Police have appealed for help amid growing concerns for an elderly man who has gone missing from his home at Darley Ford.

Derek Dilworth is 84 years old and is missing from the area of Darley Ford Quarry.

Police say Derek is quite a fit and healthy man but does suffer with severe dementia, although this might not be obvious when seen.  

He was last seen by his wife just before 5pm yesterday.

Derek is a white man, 5ft11ins tall, of average build and bald on top. He was last seen wearing a light beige short jacket, grey trousers and brown shoes. He does not have anything to identify him on him. 

Extensive searches have been conducted in the local area by police but there have been no sightings of Derek.

Police are asking people to check all outbuildings, gardens and vehicles for this male due to the growing concern for his safety. 

It is possible that he was picked up by a member of the public yesterday between 4pm and 6pm on the B3254 between Pensilva and Darley Ford stables.
