FIREFIGHTERS were called to a skip on fire in a Cornish town in the early hours of Sunday (August 16) morning.
The skip in St Austell was well alight and the fire had spread to nearby scaffolding. A fire crew from the town used a hosereel jet and wore breathing apparatus as they put out the blaze.
Later on Saturday, crews from Truro and Tolvaddon used hosereel jets and beaters to extinguish a grass and gorse fire at Tregavethan, near Threemilestone, and fightfighters from Perranporth, St Just and St Ives dealt with a gorse fire at Madron, using hosereel jets.
