Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision on the A390 at Hewas Water, St Austell, last night (June 25).
Emergency services were called just after 9.45pm to reports of a collision involving a black Vauxhall Vectra Saloon car.
As a result of the collision, the passenger, a woman in her 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The male driver was taken to Treliske Hospital where he remains with serious injuries.
The car was travelling from the St Austell area in the direction of Truro and left the carriageway. The vehicle collided with 22 parked vehicles which were parked on the garage forecourt of Andrew Toms Cars.
The road was closed for eight hours while officers carried out an examination of the scene.
Police from the Alliance Roads Policing Team are appealing for witnesses and are particularly interested in anyone who witnessed the manner of driving of a black coloured Vauxhall Vectra in the Hewas Water area around 9.45pm.
Officer also want to speak to anyone who stopped at the scene of the collision to assist, leaving before the arrival of the police.
