Tamar Valley Health (TVH), which has surgeries in Callington and Gunnislake, says it has had such a high uptake of COVID booster vaccinations that its appointments are now full till nearly the end of November.

It has also alerted people to the fact it has flu vaccination appointments available at short notice.

TVH has posted on the Gunnislake Community Matters page: “We would like to advise our patients that we are offering COVID booster vaccination clinics at Callington Town Hall and Launceston College. We have had a very high uptake of these appointments and we are currently full until 27th November.

“If you feel you cannot wait until the next available appointment slot please book your booster via the NHS site or ring 119. This means you will need to travel to the nearest mass vaccination centre, which is likely to be Plymouth.”

It added: “FLU vaccination appointments are available to book and these can usually be offered within a week.

“Our staff are working many additional hours to ensure we can offer the COVID booster vaccination service locally to our patients. However, we only have so much capacity and we can only apologise if patients are having to wait for this service.

“We do have flu vaccination appointments available at short notice, so please ring us to book an appointment.

“For information: we can only offer COVID boosters from an authorised site (Callington Town Hall & Launceston College), we are also limited to the amount of patients we can see in these clinics due to the mandatory 15 minute observation time.

“Again, our staff at TVH are working incredibly hard and all of the flu and COVID vaccinations clinics are completed in addition to our weekly contracted hours.

“We appreciate your patience at this time.
