St Blazey II v Luckett II

Luckett were brought back to earth with a bang on Sunday in this rearranged match at St Blazey, when they lost to the bottom club by 35 runs. Luckett's cause was not helped by several catches being dropped, with some of them to cost dearly as the players went on to make large scores.

S Dounard managed 16 fours in his innings of 90, while S Bailey (28), A Harrison (23), C Robertson (20) and S Taylor (15) also contributed double figure scores. Bowling for Luckett, Dave Colwill took 2-29, Tom Bolitho managed 2-57 and Roger Berry scored 2-49.

In reply, Luckett made a poor start after losing two wickets for only 13 runs. Tom Bolitho scored 51, including eight fours and Paul Ingerson managed 38, including seven fours and a six, then put on 84 runs before the next wicket fell. However, only Brian Robins (15) and Steve Gold (15) managed to reach double figures after this.

The five batsmen scored just 20 runs between them for once this season, and Luckett's batting failed them as they were all out for 158 and undid all the good work on Saturday. For St Blazey's bowlers, A Riddle took 1-33, S Taylor 1-32. R Facey 5-61 and S Bailey 3-23.

St Blazey (19) beat Luckett (six) by 35 runs.
