£40k Range donation to Children's Hospice SW

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW), the charity which supports children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, has received a bumper £40,687 donation from retailer The Range.

The Range home, garden and leisure superstores number 140 outlets.

CHSW runs three children’s hospices in the South West; Little Bridge House in Barnstaple, Charlton Farm near Bristol and Little Harbour in St Austell (pictured).

The hospices are on hand for short breaks, respite stays, palliative care, emergency stays as well as end of life care and bereavement support. It costs more than £9 million a year to run all three hospices.

A spokesperson for The Range said: ’We are delighted to be able to donate to such a good cause.  We have stores across the South West, so are pleased to be able to give something back to the community, especially to a charity that relies so heavily on voluntary contributions.’

Eddie Farwell, co-founder and chief executive of CHSW said: ’On behalf of all of the children and families that we support, I would like to say a huge thank you to Chris Dawson and The Range for their wonderful donation. Such generosity enables us to continue to offer our care, to local children and their families, when they need it most.’
