By Cornish Times in Cricket

THE Cornish Times print edition this week has three pages of cricket coverage focusing on a double header weekend of action from the Cornwall League.

Callington endured mixed fortunes in the league while they celebrated a victory in the Hawkey Cup opener.

In the Isaac Foot Cup, Liskeard opening batsman Justin Kidd and Marc Wright were in sparkling form as South Petherwin were defeated.

The print edition also has reports on Saltash v Bideford, as well as Duloe’s two games over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Football is now in its closed season but there is still almost a page of news, with the spotlight on saltash.net community school winning the Cornwall Under 18 Cup (pictured).

There is news of proposed changes for the East Cornwall Premier League next season, as well as women’s football reports.

In rugby, Liskeard Looe have announced that Neil Bayliss, the former Launceston favourite, is joining the club as head coach.

The first Laser Open race at Looe Sailing Club turned into a family affair as Tom Shaw took the honours, with son Gary in second place.

We have a full report and pictures from East Cornwall Harriers’ performances at the Tavistock 5K race.

And there is our usual comprehensive round-up of golf, with reports, results and pictures from local club competitions.
