Mining revival bid has new manager

By Cornish Times in Business

The company set to start exploratory drilling at the Redmoor Mine near Callington has appointed a manager for its Cornish tin and tungsten project.

Geologist Brett Grist joins Cornwall Resources Ltd (CRL) with more than 18 years’ experience in exploration and mining in various countries around the world.

His most recent role was as chief executive of CASA Mining Ltd in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

As a member of the Dartmoor Tinworking Research Group, Mr Grist has a strong understanding of the geology and mining heritage of the region, says CRL.

A two-phase programme of exploration is set to begin at Redmoor this Spring. The area, last mined in the 1930s, has some of the richest tin resources in the world, the company believes.
